Barrelhouse Gang performing at a wedding on Orcas Island. August 2017. There we are waaaay in the back!

Getting married?  Congratulations!  We love performing at weddings.  Jazz bands and weddings go together like a hand and glove, but the very best jazz band is one that makes you smile and want to dance.  1920's swing jazz was created for dancing, and written to entertain people.  It remains the most listener-friendly form of jazz to this day, and instinctively gets your toes tapping, feet shuffling and mouth grinning ear to ear.

Barrelhouse Gang has performed at weddings all over the Seattle metropolitan area the Puget Sound region. Some wedding venues we've performed at: The Georgetown Ballroom, Loloma Lodge (McKenzie, OR,) Alderbrook Resort, The Orcas Hotel, Tyee Yacht Club, Golden Gardens Bathhouse, Lake Union Cafe, Thornewood Castle, Lake Kachess Lodge, The Sheraton Hotel, Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, BC, The Museum of Flight, Cabin Creek Lodge, Port Gamble Wedding Pavillion, Lake Crescent Lodge, Tacoma Court House Square, Port Ludlow Resort and others.

In addition to offering great vintage swing jazz for your cocktail hour, dinner hour and other wedding reception events, Barrelhouse Gang also offers other wedding services:

Have a special song that you and your fiance want for your first dance?  We are happy to learn it for you.  We can do most jazz standards and popular music tunes for a first dance.  And we are happy to provide a list of suggestions as well.

Barrelhouse Gang doubles as a classical ensemble for ceremonies, specifically a brass, wind and bass trio.  We play small ensemble arrangements from compositions by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and other great classical composers. Or alternatively, we can play romantic jazz arrangements with written horn harmonies much like classical compositions.

We also offer PA system services.  Most weddings are small enough that a large PA and soundman are not required.  It often makes sense to share the band's PA system for use by the officiant, the emcee and the guests for the ceremony, toasts, dedications and other speeches.  We have a small but powerful system suitable for most weddings with under 200 guests, and we are happy to set it up and mix sound during the entire event for a reasonable additional fee.  We also have experience working with videographers to provide a mix from the PA system into the AV recording equipment.

In addition to PA services we are happy to provide recorded music during seating, band breaks, and after the performance as well if you want DJ-style music for late-night partying.  We can easily plug in your device as well if you have your own special playlist.
