Gatsby parties, swing dances, brass bands and Mardis Gras parties...1920's jazz is experiencing a rennassiance. The reasons are obvious, this music is fun! Ragtime, blues, hot jazz, dixieland, New Orleans swing...this music inspires faces to smile and feet to move, and such fun is infectious.
Barrelhouse Gang started as a Seattle street jam in the summer of 2015. Young migratory jazz players on the circuit from New Orleans to Vancouver were congregating at Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, Seattle Center, etc playing just for kicks and whatever change people threw in their cases. The crowd nearly always smiled, danced and had a great time. That inspired us to get this act off the streets and into the live music market. Two years later with more than 150 gigs under their belt and their debut album released last May, Barrelhouse Gang is moving full steam ahead with a busy schedule of performances across the Puget Sound region. Come on out and enjoy the music!
Barrelhouse Gang performs all kinds of public and private events. Our brand of "Gatsby Jazz" has broad appeal across all age groups and all walks of life, as it's very difficult not to love this music! Our show fits quite well at corporate functions, grand openings, private parties, wedding receptions, retirement communities, festivals, parades and other marching band events, dances, memorials and fundraisers. We play celebrations of all kind.
Many of our clients have a "Roaring Twenties" theme for their event, for which we are the perfect band! If you're thinking of throwing a 1920's-themed event, please give us a call if you need any ideas! Having played many of these events we can tell you what these parties usually entail and put you in touch with other vendors as well.
Barrelhouse Gang is a very popular choice for weddings, as a happy event like a wedding deserves the happiest music in the world. In addition to our regular show, we offer other services for our wedding clients. Please see our Weddings Page.
